                                Why ?

 

• Can we be a member of a large organization and still feel disconnected?

• Can we be surrounded by people and still feel lonely?

• Can we know people but not know them?

• Can we call ourselves Christians but still be unsure of God’s plan for our lives?

• Would you sometimes answer yes to one or more of those questions?

 

Our Life Groups program at NHCC is designed to provide a solution!  A Life Group is a small community (6-12 People) which is designed to: 

1.  Promote Spiritual Growth

2.  Build Authentic Relationships

3.  Enable Caring and Support

4.  Reach Out to Others. 

Learning, serving, task based, fellowship, and support are some common focal points for Life Groups.  There can be many more. 

What would be the difference between our new “Christianity 101” Life Group and the traditional adult Sunday school?  Both support learning and spiritual growth, but the Life Group places a great deal more emphasis on the “people” items (2 through 4) above.  It’s this additional emphasis on people and creating community that sets the Life Group apart. 

Here are some ideas that became successful Life Groups: 

Sportsman’s Group … Hunting, Fishing and Jesus!

Garden Group …  Planting gardens for others.

Caregivers group … Support and encouragement.

Parenting group …  Developing Skills and support.

Gourmet Dining … Good food and Jesus!

Paint the church …  Paint, brush and good relationships.
